Expressing pic^GD4128 under the control of Scer\GAL4^insc-Mz1407, but not Scer\GAL4^repo.PU, and in combination with Dicer-2 for higher RNAi efficiency, leads to larval brain neuroblasts showing signs of quiescence: neuroblasts show a significant decrease in cell divisions (DNA replication/EdU staining); and frequently show a primary cellular process, whereas control neuroblasts show a typically rounded morphology. In the absence of Dicer-2, this expression still leads to a significant increase in cellular processes, but does not significantly affect cell divisions (DNA replication/EdU staining).

Adults expressing pic^GD4128 under the control of Scer\GAL4^elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2^Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
