UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
The expression of DreddGD12252 under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 and Dicer-2, for a more efficient RNAi, leads to curled and/or opaque wings, which respectively indicative growth inhibition and apoptosis during development. Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 alone does not lead to major defects.
Adults expressing DreddGD12252 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
