Adult survivors expressing Hcf^GD4353 under the control of Scer\GAL4^tub.PU display a number of defects including held-out wings and mild wing vein and tergite defects.

Expression of Hcf^GD4353 under the control of Scer\GAL4^tub.PU results in a reduction in body size (assayed by measuring wing size).

Expression of Hcf^GD4353 under the control of Scer\GAL4^ci.PC results in a reduction in the size of the anterior compartment of the wing relative to the posterior compartment, while expression under the control of Scer\GAL4^en-e16E results in a reduction in the size of the anterior compartment of the wing relative to the posterior compartment.

Adults expressing Hcf^GD4353 under the control of Scer\GAL4^elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2^Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
