UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Pan-neuronal expression of SerTGD3824 in adult flies (using 31[o]C heat-induced Scer\GAL4nSyb.PS in combination with Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B) significantly increases wall following behavior (posited measure of anxiety) in an arena, as well as significantly increasing walking speed, compared to non-induced (18[o]C) controls.
Expression of SerTGD3824 under the control of Scer\GAL4dimm-929 does not affect sensitivity to (S,Z,Z)-CH503 (a more potent stereoisomer of the gustatory sex pheromone CH503). As in wild type flies, courtship defects are seen in response to (S,Z,Z)-CH503.
Adults expressing SerTGD3824 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
