UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Scer\GAL4bs.PM-mediated expression of Vha26GD7112 results in tracheal terminal cells showing a gas-filling defect at the stalk cell to terminal cell connection, together with severe stalk cell-terminal cell interface defects which include long, branched autocellular, seamed tubes extending well beyond the terminal cell nucleus. Post-embryonic expression (using Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B) is sufficient to confer the terminal cell defects. The ectopic, seamed tubes derive from the adjacent stalk cell.
Adults expressing Vha26GD7112 under the control of the cardioblast-specific Scer\GAL4tin.CΔ4 driver show significantly reduced survival on day 6 after a shift to 29[o]C compared to control flies.
Depending on the insertion line used, expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR can result in adult/pharate lethality or early pupal lethality.
