UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Third instar larvae expressing dpr11GD13301 (together with UAS-Dicer2 to enhance RNAi efficiency) under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.1.9 display hyposensitive behavioral response (lengthened latency till response to 46[o]C thermal probe stimulus) in a thermal nociception assay. However, dpr11GD13301 RNAi expression does not affect dendrite coverage in the ddaC dorsal multidendritic neurons compared to controls.
Adults expressing dpr11GD13301 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) show significantly reduced avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
Expression of dpr11GD13301 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) results in viable flies or partial lethality, depending on the particular P{GD13301} insertion line used.
