Expression of dveGD1425 in the midgut at 25[o]C under the control of Scer\GAL4NP3123 results in the copper cells exhibiting abnormal morphology in male progeny. Both sexes exhibit a reduction in midgut function, including acid secretion and copper absorption.

Expression of dveGD1425 in the midgut at 25[o]C under the control of Scer\GAL4NP3012 has no effect on acid secretion in the midgut but reduces copper absorption.

Expression of dveGD1425 in copper cells at 25[o]C under the control of Scer\GAL4NP3270 has little effect on copper absorption but reduces acid secretion in the midgut.

Expression of dveGD1425 in copper cells at 25[o]C under the control of Scer\GAL4NP3157 has little effect on copper absorption but reduces acid secretion in the midgut.

Expression of dveGD1425 in interstitial cells at 25[o]C under the control of Scer\GAL4NP3207 or Scer\GAL4NP3612 has a mild effect on copper absorption and acid secretion in the midgut.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 may result in lethality before the pupal stage, depending on the insertion line used.
