Expression of easGD10683 under the control of Scer\GAL4Lsp2.3.1 (using tub-Gal80[ts] to limit expression to adulthood) does not induce cell death in either germaria or vitellogenic stage follicles and while it does not affect the proliferation of the germline stem cells it leads to significant increase in the rate of their loss over time.
Adults expressing easGD10683 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
