      Onion stage spermatids are usually multinucleate due to a failure in cytokinesis during meiosis in males expressing sauGD10594 under the control of Scer\GAL4bam.T:Hsim\VP16.

      Animals expressing sauGD10594 under the control of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL during the larval stage (using the temperature sensitive Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B allele to control the timing of expression) show significant tetraploidy (6%) in the brain. 30% of mid-telophases fail to form a fully constricted contractile ring and the formation of a compact central spindle is impaired.

      Adults expressing sauGD10594 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
