Expression of DlScer\UAS.P\T.cJa under the control of Scer\GAL4mat.αTub67C.T:Hsim\VP16 in the germline in early oogenesis results in a dramatic reduction in the number of mitotically dividing cells. The number of stage 6 egg chambers with normal, mitotically dividing follicle cells is reduced to half those in wild-type chambers.
Expression of DlScer\UAS.P\T.cJa under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.PG in the female germline results in germaria with extra cap cells and additional germ-line stem cells.
DeltaUASp.cJa, Mad12, Scer\GAL4nanos.PG has increased cell number phenotype
DeltaUASp.cJa, Scer\GAL4nanos.PG has female germline stem cell | increased number phenotype, suppressible | partially by DadUAS.cTa, Scer\GAL4nanos.PG
DeltaUASp.cJa, Mad12, Scer\GAL4nanos.PG has female germline stem cell phenotype
Expressing DlScer\UAS.P\T.cJa under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.PG in Mad12 mutant GSCs during the larval/pupal stages results in an enlargement of the niche at 7 and 14 days after clone induction. No stem cell maintenance defects are observed. The number of Mad12 mutant GSCs in the enlarged niche increases from 7 days to 14 days.
Coexpression of DadScer\UAS.cTa with DlScer\UAS.P\T.cJa, under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.PG, partially suppresses the additional germ-line stem cell of females that express only DlScer\UAS.P\T.cJa.
