Only 45% of the expected number of Chd11/Df(2L)Exel7014 adults are recovered. None of the embryos laid by Chd11/Df(2L)Exel7014 females mated to wild-type males hatch.

In most embryos derived from Chd11/Df(2L)Exel7014 females, partial decondensation of the sperm chromatin and normal apposition of the parental pronuclei is seen. However, after this, only one pronucleus undergoes mitosis and the other does not.
