Expression of GSd454GSd454 under the control of Scer\GAL4109(2)80 results in defects in the dendrites of dorsal cluster dendritic arborisation (da) neurons in third instar larvae: dendrite growth is reduced in the class II da neurons, dendrite morphology is defective in the class III da neurons and dendrite growth and branching are reduced in the class IV da neurons.
Expression of GSd454GSd454 under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.1.9 results in a reduction in the number and growth of higher order dendritic branches of the ddaC da neurons.
Isolated RP2 neuron clones expressing GSd454GSd454 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP (clones generated using the Scer\FLP1eve.RN2 line) show a reduction in dendrite growth at 25-31 hours after egg laying. The distribution of dendrites in the dendritic field is altered: there is a decrease in the number of dendrites targeted to the posterior, medial and lateral regions of the dendritic field.
