Expression of TrpA1dsRNA.A.UAS and TrpA1dsRNA.B.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4TrpA1.SH significantly reduces temperature, but not shock, olfactory memory, compared to controls.
Flies co-expressing TrpA1dsRNA.A.Scer\UAS and TrpA1dsRNA.B.Scer\UAS under the control of one of Scer\GAL4TrpA1.SH, Scer\GAL4Appl.G1a or Scer\GAL4Cha.7.4 show an altered distribution along a thermal gradient compared to wild-type flies. The mutant flies show increased accumulation in the warmest regions (28-32[o]C) of the gradient. Flies co-expressing TrpA1dsRNA.A.Scer\UAS and TrpA1dsRNA.B.Scer\UAS under the control of either Scer\GAL4Cha.1.2 or Scer\GAL4Dll-md23 do not show a disruption in warmth avoidance.
Cooverexpression of two copies of TrpA1dsRNA.A.Scer\UAS and two copies of TrpA1dsRNA.B.Scer\UAS with Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf results in an increase in arousal state stability between ZT12 and ZT15 when the animals are transferred from 22[o]C to 27[o]C.
