Expression of speck^JF02142 under the control of Scer\GAL4^nSyb.PS leads to low levels of activity while awake during daytime. Its expression also leads to an increase in the amount of nighttime sleep with sleep bouts during the night increased in duration and decreased in number.

Expression of speck^JF02142 under the control of Scer\GAL4^alrm.PD leads to low levels of activity while awake during daytime. Its expression also leads to an increase in recovery sleep the next day after overnight mechanical sleep deprivation.
