Ten-a367; Ten-m628 double heterozygotes show interommatidial bristle loss, supernumerary interommatidial bristles, uneven ommatidial size and shape, column disorder, and interommatidial fusions in 21-30% of adults.

Flies with transheterozygous combinations of Ten-a367/+ and Ten-m628/+ display eye roughness. Consistent features include ommatidial order defects, ommatidial fusions, eye sensory bristle loss, and occasional supernumerary sensory bristles.

FlyBase curator comment: the lethal and pair-rule phenotypes described in FBrf0204395 for Ten-a367 have been removed from the allele report in FlyBase, as FBrf0218896 indicates that these phenotypes are not due to an effect on Ten-a, but due to second-site mutation(s).
