The expression of PnglKK101641 under the combined control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU, Scer\GAL4ey.PU and Dicer-2 (for efficient RNAi) does not lead to any obvious eye morphology defects, as compared to controls.

Individuals expressing PnglKK101641 under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU or Scer\GAL4how-24B (but not when under the control of Scer\GAL4NP3207 or Scer\GAL4NP3270), are lethal and semi-lethal, respectively; their larval midguts also exhibit a decreased acid zone and impaired food clearing during the wandering stage, but only individuals with Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU-driven expression exhibit a shortened gastric caeca, as compared to controls.
