UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Expression of TlKK103505 driven in the fat body of male flies by Scer\GAL4r4 (or driven by Scer\GAL4yolk in female fat bodies) significantly decreases survival of flies in response to Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus or Enterococcus faecalis) and a fungus (Aspergillus fumigatus), compared to controls. Bacterial load (measured as colony forming units 24hr post infection) of S. aureus significantly increases in adult flies, compared to controls.
Flies expressing TlKK103505 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act.PU that have been challenged with vesicular stomatitis virus show levels of viral replication that are not significantly different to that seen in wild-type controls.
