The expression of TfAP-2GD4684 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU, but not of Scer\GAL4tim.PU, Scer\GAL4Pdf.PU, Scer\GAL4Gad1.PU, Scer\GAL4104Y Scer\GAL4GMR23E10, Scer\GAL4GMR21B10, Scer\GAL4GMR20D06, Scer\GAL4Tdc1.PU, Scer\GAL4cv-c-C5, Scer\GAL4GMR20F11 or Scer\GAL4Gad1.PU, leads to a significant decrease in sleep time, which is explained by a significant decrease in night-time sleep, as compared to controls; their adult brains exhibit slimmer or disrupted mushroom body alpha/beta lobe axonal projections, as compared to controls. Expression under the combined control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU and Dicer-2 (for a more efficient RNAi) leads to a more severe sleep phenotype, almost abolishing the night-time sleep. Adulthood-only expression under the combined control of control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU and Gal80[ts] (for temporal regulation of expression) also leads to a significant decrease in sleep time, which is more severe by the additional expression of Dicer-2 (and more efficient RNAi).

Scer\GAL4Tdc2.PC TfAP-2KK109052 males show similar high intensity fighting behaviours to controls in male aggression assays.

Scer\GAL4Tdc2.PC TfAP-2KK109052 males show an increased frequency of mating behaviours towards other males or towards virgin females compared to controls.

Scer\GAL4Tdc2.PC TfAP-2KK109052 males do not show any change in their overall activity, though they walk at a significantly slower pace compared to controls.

Scer\GAL4Tdc2.PC TfAP-2KK109052 male flies over-eat after starvation compared to controls.

Scer\GAL4Tdc2.PC TfAP-2KK109052 male flies eat significantly more food ad lib than controls in a 24 hr period. The number of feeding bouts is unaffected, while meal size is significantly increased.
