UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Expression of NPFRKK112704 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu, but not Scer\GAL4GMR71G01, in males significantly increases courtship towards males, compared to controls.
Females expressing NPFRKK112704 under the control of Scer\GAL4NP1624, Scer\GAL4e22c or Scer\GAL4C587, but not Scer\GAL4nSyb.PP, Scer\GAL4elav.PLu, Scer\GAL4esg.PU, Scer\GAL4NP0001, Scer\GAL4Tk.PS, Scer\GAL4nos.PG, Scer\GAL4bab1-Gal4 or Scer\GAL4c306, show the expected mating-induced increase in germline stem cells in the germarium, as compared to controls; the Scer\GAL4NP1624-driven expression also leads to females failing to show the expected mating-induced increase in germline stem cell division (pH3 and BrdU labelling) and laying significantly less eggs, despite similar copulation rate, as compared to controls.
