mitochondrion & motor neuron | larval stage, with Scer\GAL4RapGAP1-OK6
The proportion of mitochondria that are motile is reduced in the motor neurons of MiroScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC; Scer\GAL4OK6 larvae, as is the number of stationary clusters of mitochondria in these cells. Both anterograde and retrograde flux of mitochondria in motor neuron axons is reduced. In addition, anterograde motile mitochondria are significantly longer than wild-type. This effect is not seen with retrograde motile mitochondria.
Scer\GAL4RapGAP1-OK6/MiroUAS.Tag:MYC partially rescues MiroSd32/MiroB682
MiroScer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC; Scer\GAL4OK6 largely rescues the reduction in the number motile mitochondria and the decreased mitochondrial flux seen in axons of motor neurons of MiroB682/MiroSd32 larvae, however, the reduction of stationary mitochondrial clusters is not rescued. Rescue is more complete at 20'C than at 25'C.
