60% of defl^P/defl^Z animals survive to adulthood. 80% of the defl^P/defl^Z escapers are male.

40% of eggs laid by defl^P/defl^Z females have defective chorion and dorsal appendage formation. The frequency of morphologically normal eggs that hatch is only 3% for eggs laid by defl^P/defl^Z females.
