sglBG01214 homozygous males have significantly increased levels of aggression. (P < 0.0001; Male aggression index = 17.1). They also have mushroom body defects including significantly shorter and wider alpha-lobes and, in some cases, fusion of the beta-lobes.
sglBG01214 mutant females have reduced glycogen levels compared to wild type controls. No change is seen in males. sglBG01214 mutant males have reduced triglyceride levels compared to wild type controls. No change is seen in males.
Mutants show an abnormal olfactory avoidance response to 0.3% benzaldehyde.
Precise excision of P{GT1}sglBG01214 reverts the increased aggression phenotype seen in sglBG01214 homozygotes.
