FlyBase curator comment: this entry is used to capture phenotypic information when the particular allele (or allele combination) used by the author could not be determined but the context of the experiment suggests that the phenotype being described is some kind of loss of function.
Flies have a lower seizure threshold on exposure to high frequency electrical stimuli compared to wild type. Seizures induced by a single HFS stimulus of 40V can be completely suppressed by 25mM valproate.
paraunspecified has bang sensitive | recessive phenotype, non-suppressible by Top1JS
The bang sensitive phenotype and decreased seizure threshold of bssunspecified is not suppressed by Top1JS/Y, however, the increased recovery time after seizure seen in these flies is partially suppressed by Top1JS/Y.
