In the tracheal dorsal trunk of stage 16 talpri-3 homozygous embryos, the protrusions of the apical plasma membrane are irregular with occasionally extended flat regions and the envelope is discontinuous when compared to controls.

The tracheal dorsal trunk of stage 17 talpri-3 homozygous embryos exhibit either misoriented in twisted tracheal tubes (in most cases) or completely disorganized tanedial folds and F-actin bundles, and the breadth of the taenidial folds is highly variable when compared to controls.

talpri-1/talpri-3 embryos show defects in the dorsal branches and transverse connectives of the tracheal system, including a loss of tracheal network integrity and an irregular tube diameter. The dorsal trunk lacks characteristic F-actin structures in the mutant embryos compared to wild type and the F-actin is disorganised.
