Site of nucleotide substitution in mutant inferred by FlyBase based on reported amino acid change.
CblK26 mutant eye mosaics display rough eyes and are larger compared to wild-type. They appear overgrown and exhibit larger ommatidia. This overgrown phenotype is visible in eye-antennal imaginal discs from the 3rd instar onwards.
CblK26 mutants block apoptosis and cause over-recruitment of all cell types in the eye. CblK26 mutant ommatidium contains on average 11.44 R cells compared to eight in wild-type ommatidia and about three primary pigment cells instead of two in wild-type. The total numbers of secondary and tertiary pigment cells has increased from nine in wild-type to an average of fourteen per CblK26 ommatidium. CblK26 mutants exhibit 4.5 R7 cells per mutant ommatidium compared to one cell in wild-type.
CblK26 is a suppressor of eye phenotype of EgfrDN.UAS, Scer\GAL4GMR.PF
CblK26 is a suppressor of eye phenotype of Ras85DN17.sev
CblK26 is a suppressor of eye | somatic clone phenotype of hidGMR.PG
CblK26 is a suppressor of photoreceptor cell R7 phenotype of sev14
The average number of total R cells in sev14, CblK26 mutant ommatidia is 11.12, containing more than four R7 cells per ommatidium.
The small eye phenotype of WGMR.PG eye clones is suppressed by a homozygous CblK26 background.
A CblK26 heterozygous background rescues the rough eye phenotype found in mutants expressing EgfrDN.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF.
A CblK26 heterozygous background moderately strongly suppresses the rough eye phenotype found in Ras85DN17.sev mutants.
A CblK26 heterozygous background rescues the rough eye phenotype found in aopACT.sev mutants.
