Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

ban12 mutant female germline stem cell clones are lost more rapidly than controls.

Heterozygous ban12 has no effect on eye morphology.

In 84% of 3rd instar larval gonads from ban12 mutants, and 75% of ban12/Df(3L)emc-E12, primordial germ cell clusters are marked with branched fusomes that are not seen in controls.

Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

7.7% of ban12/Fmr1Δ50M double heterozygous adult females are fertile, and 4.6% ban12/Fmr1Δ113M are fertile. Double heterozygous adult females of ban12/Fmr1Δ113M or ban12/Fmr1Δ50M display a significant increase in the number of germaria with one or no germline stem cells, compared to controls, that progressively worsens from day 2 post-eclosion to day 12.

Xenogenetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

One copy of ban12 has no effect on the fused ommatidia phenotype seen when Avic\GFPFmr1.CGG90.E.Scer\UAS is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF.

Complementation and Rescue Data
Comments

The lethal phenotype of ban12/Df(3L)emc-E12 is rescued with the introduction of ban+t7.2.
