Site of nucleotide substitution in mutant inferred by FlyBase based on reported amino acid change.
Homozygous female germline clones produce a normal frequency of late-stage egg chambers. The oocyte nucleus is mislocalised in 75% of stage 9/10 homozygous germline clones. Microtubules show a fairly uniform distribution in mutant stage 9 oocytes, with a higher density near the mislocalised oocyte nucleus and around the cortex (wild-type oocytes show a weak anterior-to-posterior gradient of microtubules at this stage).
Females containing homozygous germline clones produce a high frequency of eggs with fused and/or misplaced dorsal appendages, most of which do not develop. In the rare cases where these eggs do develop, the resulting embryos have large holes in their cuticles.
