UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Expression of JraJF01184 under the control of Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa (which increases RNAi efficiency) does not affect the period of locomotor activity (measured in flies kept under constant darkness conditions).
Expression of JraJF01184 under the control of Scer\GAL4Hand.ΔVM.Switch (initiated by feeding flies RU486 during adulthood) results in improved cardiac function compared to controls. Heart period (mean time between successive end-diastolic positions) and frequency of arrhythmicity are reduced at both 10 and 45 days compared to age-matched controls. No difference from controls is seen in three day-old flies. Expression of JraJF01184 also prevents the age-related decrease in End-Diastolic Diameter (EDD) seen in wild type flies.
