Under constant darkness conditions, flies expressing domJF01502 under the control of either Scer\GAL4tim.PE or Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf (in combination with Dicer-2, for more efficient RNAi) frequently lose circadian rhythmicity; in the Scer\GAL4tim.PE background, circadian periods also become longer. Upon expression under the combined control of Scer\GAL4tim.PE and Scer\GAL80Pdf.PS (in combination with Dicer-2, for more efficient RNAi) periods become longer despite of no changes in rhythmicity, as compared to controls; longer periods are also observed when this expression is restricted to adulthood, but not to development (using Gal80[ts] for the temporal control of expression).

Under LD cycles, flies expressing domJF01502 under the control of Scer\GAL4tim.PE (in combination with Dicer-2, for more efficient RNAi), do not show the expected morning peak of anticipatory activity.

The expression of domJF01502 under the control of Scer\GAL4tim.PE or Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf does not lead to obvious defects in the brain structure, but leads to a decrease in the number of lLNv neurons. In the Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf settings, the lLNv neurons also have shorter dorsal projections. Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4tim.PE leads to defects in the maintenance, but not development of sLNv neuron (i.e. no change in number in larvae, but a decrease in pupae and adults). When the Scer\GAL4tim.PE-regulated expression is restricted to adulthood (by Gal80[ts]), there are no changes in the number or dorsal projections of sLNvs.

Expression of domJF01502 results in: slightly rough eye phenotype (with either the Scer\GAL4ey.PH or the Scer\GAL4GMR.PF driver) or occasional ectopic veins in anterior wing (with Scer\GAL4nub.PK). Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI-driven expression is lethal while no overt adult phenotype is observed with Scer\GAL4en.PU.

Expression of domJF01502 in the fat body under the control of Scer\GAL4DcG results in significant hyperglycaemia.

Expression of domJF01502 in C-I neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4221 results in ddaD neurons that have an increased number of dendritic branches compared to controls. The total dendritic length is increased in ddaD neurons.

Expression of domJF01502 in C-IV neurons under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.1.9 results in a reduction in total dendritic length in ddaC, v'ada and vdaB neurons. The total number of dendritic branches is also reduced in ddaC neurons.

76% of flies co-expressing domJF01502 and domdsRNA.Sym.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4bbg-C96 show wing nicking.
