Expression of mir-iab-4^{Scer\UAS.cRa.T:Disc\RFP-DsRed2} under the control of Scer\GAL4^sd-SG29.1 results in a mild haltere-to-wing transformation including extensive specification of anterior wing margin bristles.

Clones in the adult abdomen expressing mir-iab-4^{Scer\UAS.cRa.T:Disc\RFP-DsRed2} under the control of Scer\GAL4^αTub84B.PC can be recovered and show no overt mutant phenotype.

Flies expressing mir-iab-4^{Scer\UAS.cRa.T:Disc\RFP-DsRed2} under the control of Scer\GAL4^Bx-MS1096 or Scer\GAL4^sd-SG29.1 show haltere-to-wing transformations; the halteres are flattened and elongated along the proximal-distal axis and have an extensive row of sensory bristles at the leading margin.
