      Expression of par-1Scer\UAS.cBa in eye discs under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in disruption to eye disc morphology, and cell differentiation is also affected. There is a reduced number of neurons present, and they are arranged in a disorganised pattern. There is excess cell proliferation and apoptosis evident. The organization of the apical membrane domain and septate junction are disrupted.

      Expression of par-1Scer\UAS.cBa in the eye disc under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PU results in a small or non-existant eye disc, or transformation to antennal identity.
