Expression of l(2)gd1^Scer\UAS.cGa in the proneural cluster under the control of Scer\GAL4^sca-109-68 results in a loss of hairs and multiple sockets.

Expression of l(2)gd1^Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4^neur-P72 results in loss of hairs and gives rise to external sensory organs composed of multiple socket cells.

The size and morphology of the early endosomes in sensory organ precursor cells expressing l(2)gd1^Scer\UAS.cGa under the control of Scer\GAL4^neur-P72 is disrupted. The early endosomes are increased in size compared to controls. The morphology of late endosomes, recycling endosomes, and the exocyst are unchanged.
