The rate of egg hatching appears normal as a result of sraS219A.Scer\UAS.P\T expression driven by Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16. The rate of egg hatching is reduced by sraKO heterozygosity.
Scer\GAL4VP16.nanos.UTR/sraS219A.UASp partially rescues sraKO
sraS219A.Scer\UAS.P\T driven by Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 partially restores female fertility or meiotic phenotype in sraKO homozygotes. Meiosis is completed completed and synchronous mitotic division is observed in about 11% of the mutant eggs. The remaining eggs exhibit multiple aster-free spindle phenotypes.
