The denticle belt phenotype seen in larvae derived from derived from tor11D/+ females at 29[o]C is enhanced by phlHsp83.PD (penetrance is increased to 31.8%) and, to a lesser degree, by phlΔN114.Hsp83 (penetrance is increased to 17.1%).

phlHsp83.PD partially restores abdominal segment 8 denticle belts in embryos derived from homozygous trk1 females.

The lack of the abdominal segment 8 denticle belts seen in embryos derived from homozygous torrv66 females is not rescued by phlHsp83.PD.

phlΔN114.Hsp83 can rescue the posterior defects seen in embryos derived from derived from females containing homozygous phl11 germline clones (rescue is seen if the level of expression from the transgene is equal or greater than the endogenous wild-type level of phl protein), but phlΔN114.Hsp83 is less active than phlHsp83.PD in this assay (the latter can rescue the posterior defects at much lower levels of expression).
