Expression of GliScer\UAS.cPa in the wing imaginal disc under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 results in delamination of the columnar epithelial cells. Migration of these cells into the ventral compartment of the disc is observed. A significant increase in the number of dividing cells is observed in the dorsal compartment of the wing disc, and ectopic folds in the wing disc are seen. Cell death is observed in the wing disc, which is not evident in control discs.

Co-expression of bskDN.Scer\UAS in wing discs expressing GliScer\UAS.cPa under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 completely suppresses cell migration and apoptosis.
Expression of BacA\p35Scer\UAS.cHa in wing discs expressing GliScer\UAS.cPa under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 blocks cell migration, but overgrowth and ectopic folds in the dorsal wing disc are observed.
Expression of GliScer\UAS.cPa under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 fully rescues the embryonic lethality of GliAE2Δ45 mutants. Rescued embryos develop into larvae, but the majority of these become paralysed and die. Adult escapers exhibit malformed legs and fail to inflate their wings.
