Expression of GliFF.Scer\UAS in the wing imaginal disc under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 results in delamination of the columnar epithelial cells. Migration of these cells into the ventral compartment of the disc is observed. A significant increase in the number of dividing cells is observed in the dorsal compartment of the wing disc, and ectopic folds in the wing disc are seen. Cell death is observed in these wing discs, a phenotype that is not observed in control discs.

Expression of GliFF.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 fully rescues the embryonic lethality of GliAE2Δ45 mutants. Rescued embryos develop into larvae, but the majority of these become paralysed and die. Adult escapers exhibit malformed legs and fail to inflate their wings.
