ScerGAL4GMR22C06 drives expression in neurons that arborize within antennal lobe glomerulus VP2, VP3 and VP4.
ScerGAL4GMR22C06 drives expression in a subset of hot and cold activated thermosensitive antennal lobe projection neurons. These fasciculate with the medial antennal lobe tract and terminate in the lateral horn, the posterior lateral protocerebrum and mushroom body.
Inhibition (using Hsap\KCNJ2UAS.EGFP) of Scer\GAL4GMR22C06 neurons in adults results in a loss of the later stable preference for higher humidity displayed by controls, but does not affect the initial aversion to humid conditions displayed by controls.
Silencing Scer\GAL4GMR22C06-expressing neurons produces flies with significant defects in hot and cold avoidance in a two-choice assay.
