UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a short inverted repeat.
Expression of Mi-2GL00318 under the control of Scer\GAL4mat.αTub67C.T:Hsim\VP16 results in significant increase in chromosome undercondensation and misalignment of condensed chromosomes as well as mitotic spindle defects in mature oocytes compared to wild-type, but the karyosome formation during prophase I in stage 12 or 13 maturing oocytes is unaffected.
Mi-2GL00318, Scer\GAL4VP16.mat.αTub67C has oocyte phenotype, enhanceable by Rcc1UASp.mCherry, Scer\GAL4VP16.mat.αTub67C
Mi-2GL00318, Scer\GAL4VP16.mat.αTub67C has chromosome | adult stage | female phenotype, enhanceable by Rcc1UASp.mCherry, Scer\GAL4VP16.mat.αTub67C
Mi-2GL00318, Scer\GAL4VP16.mat.αTub67C is an enhancer of oocyte phenotype of Rcc1UASp.mCherry, Scer\GAL4VP16.mat.αTub67C
Mi-2GL00318, Scer\GAL4VP16.mat.αTub67C is an enhancer of chromosome | adult stage | female phenotype of Rcc1UASp.mCherry, Scer\GAL4VP16.mat.αTub67C
The frequency of undercondensed chromosomes observed in mature oocytes expressing either Rcc1Scer\UAS.P\T.T:Disc\RFP-mCherry or Mi-2GL00318 RNAi under the control of Scer\GAL4mat.αTub67C.T:Hsim\VP16 is strongly increased by simultaneous expression of both of the transgenes, the undercondensed chromosomes are not only longer but also wider compared to controls and have higher median volume.
