Amino acid replacement: ?1196term.
Rich2 eye clones made using the 'eyFLP' system display abnormally small "on" and "off" transients in electroretinograms. However, the amplitude of depolarizations in the mutant is fairly normal. Mutant epithelial glial cells are thinner than in wild type, and the cartridges contain a highly variable number of photoreceptor cell terminals ranging from 3 to 8. However, in these missorted cartridges, active zone integrity, vesicle density and capitate projections are normal.
chp staining of the medulla of Rich2 eye clones (made using the 'eyFLP' system) reveals a few 'gaps' as if some R7 terminals are missing.
Rich2 has abnormal neuroanatomy | somatic clone phenotype, enhanceable by Rab6[+]/Rab6D23D
Rich2 has abnormal neuroanatomy | somatic clone phenotype, enhanceable by CadN[+]/CadN405
Rich2 has photoreceptor cell R7 | somatic clone phenotype, enhanceable by Rab6[+]/Rab6D23D
Rich2 has photoreceptor cell R7 | somatic clone phenotype, enhanceable by CadN[+]/CadN405
Molecular and phenotypic data suggest that Rich2 is a weaker allele than Rich1.
