Homozygotes display no obvious defects in planar cell polarity in the wing or notum or in the morphology of the compound eye.

The dendrites of the dendritic arbor of the ddaC class IV neurons show an increase in crossing index in homozygous third instar larvae compared to wild type, although the cumulative branch length of the dendrites is unchanged in the mutant larvae.

The dendrites of the dendritic arbor of the ddaC class IV neurons show an increase in crossing index in esnKO6/+ larvae expressing esnGD7841 under the control of Scer\GAL4477, although the cumulative branch length of the dendrites is unchanged in the mutant larvae.
