Expression of a single copy of zipRod.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E results in most wings having blisters. These are mostly confined to the posterior compartment, although sometimes a blister may extend into regions of the anterior compartment adjacent to the compartment boundary. Cells in the posterior wing show a multiple wing hair and branched hair phenotype. Expression of two copies of zipRod.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E results in a more severe phenotype; 74% of wings show loss of posterior compartment tissue.
Expression of a single copy of zipRod.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E in a zip1/+ background results in loss of posterior compartment tissue in 100% of wings.
