UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of a short inverted repeat.
wing, with Scer\GAL4da.PU
Around 40% of flies with expression of Ufm1GL00536 driven by Scer\GAL4da.PU exhibit abnormal vertical-turned wings that fail to fold, and mutants show significant decreases in climbing ability and flight as well as shorter lifespans, compared to controls. Flies with expression of Ufm1GL00536 driven by Scer\GAL4da.PU do not show disrupted muscle morphology in the indirect flight muscles.
Third instar larvae with expression of Ufm1GL00536 driven by Scer\GAL4RapGAP1-OK6 or Scer\GAL4elav.PU (but not Scer\GAL4Mhc.PU) show significant decreases in type Ib bouton number and increases in bouton size at the neuromuscular junction, compared to controls.
