Expression of Nrdp1Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL results in a significant decrease in the number of dopaminergic (DA) neurons in the dorsomedial clusters of the adult brain. This defect is seen as early as 2 days after eclosion.
Flies expressing Nrdp1Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL have reduced flight ability compared to controls.

The loss of dopaminergic neurons of the adult brain and defects in flight ability caused by expression of Nrdp1Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4Ddc.PL are partially suppressed by co-expression of Hsap\PARK2Scer\UAS.cYa.
