Adults expressing mysdsRNA.Sym.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 have a substantial wrinkled area containing vein defects in the middle of the wing. The wrinkled area also contains wing blisters.

Expression of mysdsRNA.Sym.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E results in wrinkling, blistering and vein defects in the wing.

Expression of mysdsRNA.Sym.Scer\UAS under the control of one of Scer\GAL4107, Scer\GAL4c309, Scer\GAL4GH146, Scer\GAL4Gr5a.8.5, Scer\GAL4Gr66a.3.153, Scer\GAL4C133, Scer\GAL459Y, Scer\GAL416Y or Scer\GAL4125Y does not significantly alter avoidance to benzaldehyde in an olfactory behaviour assay.

Expression of mysdsRNA.Sym.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4MT14 significantly reduces avoidance of benzaldehyde in an olfactory behaviour assay.

Expression of mysdsRNA.Sym.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4H24 significantly blunts attraction to low concentrations of benzaldehyde and significantly reduces aversion to this odorant at high concentrations. Avoidance of 4-methylcyclohexanol and attraction to ethyl acetate are also disrupted and avoidance of 2-heptanone is marginally reduced when expression is driven by Scer\GAL4H24, while avoidance of linalool and linalool are unaffected. Negative geotaxis is normal in these flies.
