Rapid amplification of cDNA ends (3' RACE) analysis shows that the vector in the BG02427 line is spliced to the CG42699 gene contradicting the BDGP prediction at 62E1 in the CG42669 gene. However, in situ hybridisation gives no conclusive results regarding the presence or absence of an additional insertion.
Females of CG42699BG02427 have a greatly reduced olfactory trap response index compared to the wild-type control.
Males of CG42699BG02427 show significant defects in their olfactory trap response compared with wild-type controls.
Homozygous CG42699BG02427 flies show normal negative geotaxis response compared to wild-type.
