Larvae expressing Mgat1Scer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4He.PZ are able to encapsulate eggs of the avirulent wasp L. clavipes, as occurs in wild-type larvae.

Larvae expressing Mgat1Scer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4He.PZ are able to encapsulate eggs of the LvPhil, LvHaw and LvUnk strains of the parasitic wasp L. victoriae at a high frequency, in contrast to wild-type larvae which fail to encapsulate eggs of these strains.

Larvae expressing Mgat1Scer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4He.PZ are not able to encapsulate eggs of the wasp L. heterotoma.

Expression of Mgat1Scer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.Switch.PO in the presence of RU486 results in an increase in mean and maximum lifespan (8% and 13% respectively).

Flies expressing Mgat1Scer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.Switch.PO in the presence of RU486 are significantly more resistant to hydrogen peroxide than control flies.

Expression of Mgat1Scer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.Switch.PO in the presence of RU486 rescues the shortened lifespan of Mgat11 adults. The rescued flies are significantly more resistant to hydrogen peroxide than Mgat11 mutant flies. The rescued flies have significantly lower locomotor activity than wild type.
