The majority of flies expressing ct^{miRNA.Scer\UAS} under the control of Scer\GAL4^hth-GETDB survive to adult stages, although occasional flies die during the pharate stage. Adult flies show distal antenna to leg transformation with complete penetrance.

Flies co-expressing ct^{miRNA.Scer\UAS} and hth^{miRNA.Scer\UAS} under the control of Scer\GAL4^hth-GETDB are lethal at 25[o]C. At 17[o]C, 80% are lethal before the pharate stage and the remainder die during the pharate stage. In these flies small ectopic eyes are occasionally seen in the basal region of the antenna, or in the transformed A2 segment. This is often accompanied by the loss of distal antenna segments or distal antenna-to-leg transformation, loss of maxillary palp, clypeus, labrum, labellum, and medial ocellus, and an indentation at the anterior midline commissure.
