fonΔ24A homozygous and fonΔ24A/Df(2L)Exel6043 transheterozygous pupae are elongated, as shown by a significant increase in the length/width axial ratio as compared to controls.

fonΔ24A/Df(2L)Exel6043 transheterozygous wandering third instar larvae move at significantly lower speed in crawling assays, present significant detachment and rounding of myofibers, and present a significant increase in the hemisegmental gap between dorsal oblique muscles 1 and 2 without any associated detachment of the actin cytoskeleton from the sarcolemma, as compared to controls.

fonΔ24A heterozygous wandering third instar larvae do not present significant increases in either the number of muscle detachments or in the size of the hemisegmental gap between dorsal oblique muscles 1 and 2, as compared to controls.

Hemolymph from homozygous and fonΔ24A/Df(2L)Exel6043 wandering larvae produces longer fibres than can be drawn from wild-type larvae in a drawout assay testing coagulation.

fonΔ24A, TigA1 double heterozygous wandering third instar larvae present significant increases in the number of muscle detachments and in the hemisegmental gap between dorsal oblique muscles 1 and 2, as compared to single heterozygous or wild-type controls.

fonΔ24A heterozygous wandering third instar larvae expressing either TigJF01143 or TspKK108103, but not GelJF01723 or GelHMS02269, under the control of Scer\GAL4da.PU present a significant increase in the number of muscle detachments, as compared to fonΔ24A heterozygotes or larvae with Scer\GAL4da.PU-controlled expression of either TigJF01143, TspKK108103, GelJF01723 or GelHMS02269, respectively; fonΔ24A heterozygous wandering third instar larvae expressing Lsp1γHMC04077 under the control of Scer\GAL4da.PU present a significant increase in muscle detachment as compared to fonΔ24A heterozygotes, but not to larvae only expressing Lsp1γHMC04077 under the control of Scer\GAL4da.PU.

fonΔ24A does not enhance the phenotype of reduced survival after wounding at the feeding stage which is seen in Hmlf03374 larvae.
