The expression of AcCoASHMS02314 under the control of Scer\GAL4Tk.PS leads to fewer enteroendocrine cells and more lipid droplets in the adult anterior midgut, but not in the adult posterior midgut. Adults show increased lethality to infection with V. cholerae.

Expression of AcCoASHMS02314 under the control of Scer\GAL4dome-PG14 (in combination with tub-Gal80[ts]) leads to a decline in the cortical zone of lymph gland primary lobe of larvae.

Expression of AcCoASHMS02314 under the control of Scer\GAL4Lsp2.3.1 (using tub-Gal80[ts] to limit expression to adulthood) does not have significant effect on female germline stem cell (GSC) maintenance but moderately decreases their proliferation. The expression does induce cell death in either early germline cysts in germaria not in vitellogenic stage follicles.
