Description

A portion of the per 3'UTR present in per+t13.2 has been replaced with a KpnI-Bsu36I fragment containing the corresponding per 3'UTR sequence from perVT1.2 haplotype flies. The exchanged fragment extends from the stop codon to approximately 70bp upstream of the site for 3' cleavage/polyadenylation.

      Under 12 hour light : 12 hour dark conditions at 18[o]C, flies carrying pertVT1.2 in a per01 background have a more robust mid-day siesta compared to flies carrying pertVT1.1 in a per01 background. At higher temperatures, the differences in daily activity profiles between the two genotypes is less significant. Both genotypes have similar free-running behavioural periods.
